An EVP Carves His Own Path Post-Pimco

Earlier this year, a longtime distribution executive with a West Coast investing giant left the company and started his own venture.

As of June, Steven Plump — mmost recently an executive vice president and head of national accounts for Newport Beach, California-based Pimco [profile] — has moved on to an eponymous firm, Steven Plump, LLC.

Todd Staley, an executive vice president at Pimco, did not return an email for comment.

A Pimco spokesperson writes to MFWire, "I can confirm that Steve Plump left PIMCO at the end of last year ... [yet he] continued as a consultant until June of this year."

"We wish Steve well in all his endeavors and thank him for his contributions to PIMCO over the many years," the spokesperson adds.

Plump joined Pimco in 2011. Prior to his time with the SoCal company, he was a managing director with Allianz Global Investors for four years. From 1999 to 2006, he served as a managing director for Credit Suisse Asset Management. Between 1990 and 1999, he held a variety of executive roles with GNA and Warburg Pincus Asset Management. Plump is an alumnus of Cornell University.
