Thursday, November 30, 2023 An $8.5B-AUM ETF Player Adds a Marketing Chief An Austin, Texas-based marketing veteran is joining a firm that helps boutiques enter the ETF space and has more than $8.5 billion in AUM (as of August 31), more than 54 ETF issuer allies, and more than 118 ETFs.
Du Plessis most recently came from Roundhill Investments, where she was director of marketing. Dave Mazza, chief strategy officer at Roundhill Investments, declined to comment. At Tidal, Du Plessis' new duties and responsibilities will include "full oversight of all marketing, and communications for both our clients and the Tidal brand itself," the Tidal Financial Group team shares with MFWire. The position is a new one, "created to further strengthen our marketing services for clients and increase Tidal presence as the go-to White Label ETF provider," the team adds. "Claire's global experience across marketing, communications, and sales within the ETF industry and outside, is the perfect fit for our growing firm, as we seek to continue to grow and deliver best in class service to our clients and partners," the Tidal team adds. "So happy to have you join us Claire," says Eric Falkeis, co-founder and chief growth officer, in a LinkedIn post. DuPlessis' move to Tidal comes as the firm's investment advisor arm, fka Toroso Investments, LLC, is rebranding as Tidal Investments, LLC. Before joining Roundhill Investments last year, du Plessis had stints at Fresh Projects, Bridge Collective, and MullenLowe Group. She is an alumna of the University of Cape Town.
