Aquila Group of Funds announced the appointment of Edmund P. Jensen as a trustee of Tax-Free Trust of Oregon, a tax-exempt municipal bond fund for Oregon residents, on Monday.

Jensen currently serves as director of the board of California-based companies Phoenix Technologies and BMG Seltec. Jensen is also chairman and director of the Portland Family of Funds, the fundraising arm of the Portland Development Commission. From 1994 to 1999, Jensen served as president and chief executive officer of Visa International.

Jensen joins nine other trustees, six of whom are locally-based. Lacy B. Herrmann, chairman and chief executive officer of the fund group, and Diana Herrmann, vice chairman and chief operating officer, are also trustees of the Oregon fund.

The fund firm has from "day one" drawn on local talent for hiring portfolio managers and trustees, believing that it gives "better insight into local economy...and issues that might affect securities in which we might invest" said Diana Herrmann.

The Tax-Free Trust of Oregon's investments include public utilities and schools, highways and hospitals. As of March 31, 2004, the trust's assets totaled more than $455 million.

The trustees will gather at the Trust's annual shareholder meeting is on May 3 in Portland, Oregon.
