35Y In, a Senior Virtus Leader Makes Way For a 12Y Company Vet

A senior leader in the South Shore is saying goodbye 35 years after joining Virtus, while a 12-year company veteran in North Texas is on the rise at the Constitution State fund firm.

Scituate, Massachusetts-based John McCormack is retiring from Hartford, Connecticut-based Virtus Investment Partners, Inc. [profile], where he had a national sales manager role, MFWire has learned. A Virtus spokesperson writes to MFWire that Dallas-based Doug Hintlian, a senior regional director, is McCormack's successor and was promoted from within the firm.

"Today I end one chapter and begin another ... Retirement ! Incredibly grateful for the friendships I have made, and opportunity, and experiences I had representing Virtus for the past 30+ years. Looking forward to the next chapter," writes McCormack on LinkedIn.

McCormack first joined Virtus (then called Phoenix Investment Partners) in 1991. After a two year stint at John Hancock, he rejoined Virtus in 2009 and took over as national sales manager the next year. He is an alumnus of Merrimack College.

Hintlian first joined Virtus in 2014. Before then, he previously worked at Columbia Threadneedle. He is an alumnus of Southern New Hampshire University.
