Market-Timing Firms May Settle Soon

A settlement between regulators and Bank One Corp., Invesco Funds Group and Conseco Inc. could come as soon as this month, sources familiar with the matter told Bloomberg.

All three firms were caught up in the improper trading scandals that erupted last year and are just now winding down.

New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer charged Bank One and Invesco with allowing Canary Capital to market time their funds. Investigations into Conseco concerned market-timing in its variable annuity products.
