Insider No Longer Chair at Hartford Funds

Dr. Robert Gavin, Jr. replaces Tom Marra, president of the Hartford Mutual Funds, as chairman of the board of directors.

Gavin has been a member of the Hartford Mutual Funds board since 2002 (and Hartford-acquired Fortis funds since 1989).

"The last year has seen an intense spotlight on mutual fund governance and, as we have often said, The Hartford supports the efforts of regulators to move toward an industry which provides greater transparency and clarity, and ultimately gives investors greater confidence in our products," stated Marra.

Gavin was former president of Macalaster College, and also holds a doctorate in physical chemistry.
