Thursday, December 2, 2004 MFS Adds International 529 Option Participants in the Oregon sponsored 529 college savings plan are now able to invest in the MFS International Diversification Fund. The fund was created for the MFS-administered 529 program from a portfolio of five international equity funds advised by MFS. The international styles include growth and value, small and large capitalization, and emerging market stocks, said Bruce Harrington, vice president and director of product development and marketing communications for MFS. MFS managers will periodically rebalance the fund and use target weightings of: MFS Research International Fund (30 percent), MFS International Growth Fund (25 percent), MFS International Value Fund (25 percent), MFS Emerging Markets Equity Fund (10 percent) and MFS International New Discovery Fund (10 percent). The MFS 529 Savings Plan offers investors more than 20 investment choices, that can also be mixed into three asset allocation options based on the beneficiary's age, targeted allocation or a custom allocation.
