Yardeni to Manage New Oak Fund

Ed Yardeni, who joined Oak Associates three months ago, will co-manage a new core growth fund. Yardeni, Jim Oelschlage, chief investment officer at Oak, and Robert Stimpson, portfolio manager at Oak, will co-manage the Rock Oak Core Growth Fund, which will open to investors on New Year's Eve.

Oak Associates, a boutique investment firm based in Akron, Ohio, filed for the new fund on October 15.

The fund will hold between 35 to 50 equities. The managers will use both a "top down" and "bottom up" approach in evaluating stocks, according to the filing. Net operating expenses in the fund will be 115 basis points, at least for the first year.

Yardeni, a noted investment strategist, left a position as chief investment strategist and managing director of Prudential Equity Group.
