An Ohio Manager Undergoes a Mutual Fund Makeover

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Meeder has undergone a major mutual fund makeover this year.

The $5 billion, Dublin, Ohio-based asset manager has changed its name from Meeder Financial to Meeder Investment Management.

Moreover, the ten-product fund family that Meeder manages has changed its name from The Flex-funds to Meeder Funds.

"Our goal was to select names that clearly communicate the services Meeder provides. It was also important to clearly associate our investment company and mutual fund family," stated Bob Meeder, president of Meeder Investment Management. "With these changes, I believe we have accomplished our goal."

According to Meeder's national vice president for sales, Ron Sala, "a large part of our business is working with financial advisors. I feel these name changes will allow advisors to more easily recognize the breadth of offerings available at Meeder."

According to Meeder, its funds and portfolios are available through a variety ofdifferent platforms and providers including Nationwide, Principal, Fidelity, Envestnet, KTrade, Lincoln Investment, Managed Opportunities, Matrix, MG Trust, and TD Ameritrade.

Further, the Meeder funds and portfolios have recently been added to the FTJ Fund Choice and Placemark platforms, according to the firm.

"We are excited about the launch of our funds and portfolios on the FTJ Fund Choice and Placemark platforms," stated Ron Sala, National Vice President, Sales for Meeder Investment Management. "This expanded distribution allows us to collaborate with a larger network of investment professionals providing investment solutions to both individual and corporate clients."
