As legislation hoping to make all kinds of fund disclosure mandatory, specifically the application of breakpoint discounts, a firm has introduced one of many offerings likely to come to help brokers determine breakpoint discounts for investors.

NewRiver has launched NewRiver BreakPoint Complete, a system the company said is designed to automate the calculations of breakpoint discounts for brokers. The new service will combine the company’s data feed service with NewRiver BreakPointer(sm), the firm’s breakpoint research product launched in November.

The program will allow users to research a fund's historical and current breakpoint tables as well as associated Rights of Accumulation, Letters of Intent, NAV Transfers, NAV Reinstatements and Dealer Concession information. It will also code breakpoint data extracted from mutual fund compliance documents and translate the data into a standardized format across fund families to support automated processing of breakpoint refund calculations.
