Forward Makes a Marketing Push

Forward Management [profile] has hired Shaunda Toomasson to be director of product marketing, and is prepping a new promotion strategy and enhanced online marketing efforts. Forward managing director of strategy, thought leadership and marketing Paul Schaeffer confirmed the hiring and briefly discussed the firm's future plans with MFWire.

Toomasson is coming to Forward from Franklin Templeton, where she was senior product marketing manager. At Forward, she will be in charge of a marketing team of approximately ten members, focusing on product managers, and will report to vice president of marketing Charlene St. John, who reports to Schaeffer. Toomasson's first day at Forward was August 20.

Schaeffer said that her role will be to "make sure that we have a comprehensive marketing strategy for all of our products, and that those strategies are integrated with our sales team."

Schaeffer said that this is a new position with Forward. The company has been expanding its overall marketing efforts over the last 12 to 18 months, Schaeffer said, with a rebranding, the rollout of a new website and increased online marketing efforts. Forward has made three new hires or promotions to the marketing team, Schaeffer said.

And there's more to come. Schaeffer said that Forward is planning to begin a new promotions strategy this fall and a much stronger effort in promoting the brand through social media, an effort will include the launch of two new blogs.
