Bernson and Sheehan have been appointed associate directors of advisory solutions. Benson and Sheehan previously served as an internal wholesalers at Putnam Investments. Smith has been appointed director of advisory solutions. Previously, he was an external relationship manager at Credit Suisse. Zhmakina has been appointed junior associate director of advisory solutions.

Addition: Matt Freund

Freund has joined the firm as co-portfolio manager, in addition to his current positions as co-chief investment officer and head of fixed income strategies. Previously, Freund spent more than 20 years at USAA Investments, most recently as chief investment officer.

Additions: Linda Cook, Jennifer Morgan

Cook and Morgan have been elected as independent directors. Cook will join the firm's Corporate Governance and Nominating and Risk Committees. Morgan will join the firm's Audit and Technology Committees.

Steward has joined the firm as head of European, Middle East and Africa distribution. Previously he worked for 13 years at AllianceBernstein Limited, most recently as managing director.

Retiree: Mark Casady

Casady, CEO, will retire on January 3, 2017. Current LPL president, Dan Arnold, will serve as president and CEO upon Casady's retirement. Casady joined the firm in 2002.

Resignation: Thomas James

James, executive chairman, announced his departure, which will take effect on February 16, 2017; he will be the chairman emeritus after that date. Previously, he served as financial chairman and chief executive officer.


Company: Putnam Investments

Promotions: Samuel Cox, Kathryn Lakin

Cox and Lakin have been appointed co-directors of equity research. Together, they will "oversee the work of nearly 35 analysts who cover every major industry, providing critical fundamental research and analysis for the firmís broader equity platform."


Company: NextCapital

Addition: Matt Clink

Clink has been appointed chief investment officer. Previously, he served as North American chief investment officer at Aon Hewitt Investment Services.


Company: Oakmark Funds

Promotions: Tony Coniaris, Jason Long, Eric Liu, Mike Manelli, Justin Hance

Coniaris will become a co-PM of the Oakmark Global Fund and the Oakmark Global Select Fund. Long will become a co-PM of the Oakmark Global Fund. Liu will become a co-PM of the Oakmark Global Select Fund. Manelli will become a co-PM of the Oakmark International Fund. Hance will become a co-PM of the Oakmark International Small Cap Fund.

Addition: Mark Manassee

Manassee has been appointed to ICON Fund's board of trustees. Prior to this position, he was the president of Market Metrics.


Company: Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America

Addition: Robert DeChellis

DeChellis has been hired to lead a new strategic business unit. In this new role, his primary objective will be to "harness the intellectual capital of the Allianz asset management and life insurance companies in the United States."


Company: Wealthfront

Resignation: Adam Nash

Nash has stepped down as CEO of Wealthfront, but he will remain on the board. Andy Rachleff, founder and former CEO, will become the CEO once again.
