These 7 ETF Shops Are Teaming Up With Pershing. Here's Why.

Fundsters whose funds are on the new Pershing no-transaction-fee (NTF) ETF platform called FundVest ETF are praising its transparency, education and research tools, and more. It is available to all Pershing broker-dealers and RIA clients who choose to turn it on, and it does not include purchase minimums or minimum holding periods.

Bill Belden, Guggenheim Investments managing director and head of ETF business development, tells MFWire that they are "aware of the implications of cost to clients" and the "increased visibility to our products...The key value proposition is the implications of the visibility Pershing provides as part of their underlying advisor base." There are 39 Guggenheim ETFs participating on the FundVest platform.

David Fajardo, SVP of Direxion, tells MFWire that "inflows and ETFs are growing at a rapid pace" and commends the NTF FundVest ETF platform because of its cost efficiency that makes it "great for investors and advisors at the same time." There are four Direxion ETFs participating on the FundVest platform, and they are strategic beta and buy and hold ETFs.

Natalie Zahradnik, Pimco Executive VP and ETF strategist, states "we are excited to be participating in the program because our clients see the benefits of trading actively managed ETFs...commission free."

Jill Mavro, head of the strategic relationship group of SPDR ETFs from State Street Global Advisors, tells MFWire "part of State Street's overall strategy is that we know every penny counts for investors of NTF helping advisors save more." Some reasons FundVest ETF attracted SSgA is Pershing's "transparent open architecture platform" and the education component available to advisors and clients.

"As RIAs come under increasing pressure around fees, we continue to search for innovative ways to make our investment solutions available to meet our clients' needs," states Matt Straut, head of the RIA channel at OppenheimerFunds. OppenheimerFunds will offer four revenue weighted ETFs on Pershing's new platform.

Dan Draper, global head of PowerShares by Invesco, states that Invesco will be providing PowerShares ETFs on FundVest ETF to bring more investment solutions to clients who are looking for cheaper platforms for investing in smart beta and factor-based plans. "We believe bringing PowerShares ETFs to this new platform will expand the availability of our ETF solutions while also giving advisors the thought leadership and research tools necessary for selecting tailored funds for their clients," states Draper.
