A Freshly Rebranded Boutique Hunts For 10

A freshly rebranded Texas mutual fund shop is expanding headcount by 20 percent.

David Rentfrow, managing director and head of distribution at what is now Crossmark Global Investments [profile], confirms that the Houston-based asset manager is "actually doing a lot of hiring." Rentfrow joined what was then Capstone Financial Services in January, and this month Capstone rebranded as Crossmark.

"I have two more people starting," Rentfrow tells MFWire. "We have ten open positions right now; seven of those are in the distribution area, and the other three are in accounting and operations."

Rentfrow's open distribution positions range "from sales people to platform development," Rentfrow says. "We're Deepening our bench."

Looking ahead, Rentfrow says that Crossmark will be "leaning in on" its SRI screening capabilities in its advisor-sold SMA business. (Crossmark already does lots of screening for institutional clients and mutual funds.)

Crossmark currently has about 45 people and works with $5 billion in AUM. The firm advises the Steward Funds series of mutual funds.
