  • Background:
Crossmark specializes in SRI, offering both SMAs and the Steward Funds family of mutual funds.

The firm (then called Capstone) dates back to 1987. Capstone created its SERV (Social Ethics and Religious Values) fund family in 1998 and the Steward funds in 2004. In August 2017 Capstone Financial Services rebranded as Crossmark Global Investments.

Crossmark's investment philosophy is organized around the idea that "aligning with your values should be central to investment decisions." To that end, they emphasize five core ideals: commitment, courage, integrity, professionalism, and proficiency.

Crossmark (then called Capstone) first created the Steward fund family for the 403(b) plan of AG Financial Solutions, a Springfield, Missouri-based non-profit that is the financial services arm of the Assemblies of God Church. In 2009 Capstone entered into a five-year purchase agreement with AG Financial, and that agreement concluded in 2014. AG Financial is now the 100-percent owner of Crossmark.
