The richest fundster is also the fourth richest woman in the U.S. and the richest person in Massachusetts, at least according to Forbes' just released "Forbes 400" list.

Abby Johnson, chairman and CEO of Fidelity, continues to be the richest person in the mutual fund industry. Her estimated net worth of $16 billion also makes her the 29th richest person in the country.

Other fundsters on the 2017 list include: #62, Ned Johnson (Edward Johnson III), Abby's father, $7.9 billion; #87, Charles Johnson, chairman of Franklin Templeton, $6 billion; #108, Rupert Johnson Jr., vice chairman of Franklin Templeton, $5.2 billion; #206, Edward Johnson IV, Abby's brother, $3.6 billion; #206, Elizabeth Johnson, Abby's sister, $3.6 billion; #324, Bill Gross, PM at Janus, $2.5 billion; and #359, Ron Baron, CEO of Baron Funds, $2.2 billion.

Other familiar faces on the list include: #54, Chuck Schwab, chairman and founder of Charles Schwab, $8.4 billion; #200, Ken Fisher, $3.7 billion; and #350, Joe Mansueto, chairman and CEO of Morningstar, $2.3 billion.
