Tuesday, October 22, 2019 Four Fund Firms Win Big In Atlanta Four mutual fund firms were among the winners last week at an annual industry awards celebration.
The ten winning firms (across 11 categories) included four fund firms: American Century, recognized for "doing good"; Eaton Vance, honored as "asset manager of the year" (among firms with more than $25 billion in AUM); J.P. Morgan Asset Management, lauded for "distribution excellence"; and Russell Investments, awarded for "thought leadership/education." The wirehouse Morgan Stanley won three awards. Other winners included: Edward Jones, another big broker-dealer; Envestnet, the giant TAMP; Just Invest, a direct indexer; Horizon Investments, an ETF strategist; and LifeYield, a software provider focused on helping advisors with investor drawdown strategies. Craig Pfeiffer, president and CEO of MMI (a trade group for the managed account side of the industry), lauded the winners "for their efforts to drive improved investor outcomes and address critical industry issues." Sterling Shea, global head of wealth and asset management at Dow Jones, praised the winners for their "groundbreaking efforts ... to create better results for both advisors and the investors they serve."
