A $358B-AUM Firm Adds an ESG Chief

A $358.3-billion-AUM, multinational, publicly traded asset manager's CIO is about to add an ESG chief.

Yesterday Enrique Chang, global chief investment officer at Janus Henderson Investors [profile], confirmed that Paul LaCoursiere will join the firm on January 6, 2021 as global head of environmental, social, and governance investments. LaCoursiere will report to Chang and will continue to be based in London, Janus Henderson's hometown.

LaCoursiere currently serves as global head of ESG research at Aviva Investors.

"We believe there is a correlation between the evaluation of ESG factors and identifying companies that will grow and succeed in the future. With Paul's hire, Janus Henderson is demonstrating how seriously we take ESG considerations," Chang states. "Paul augments our existing strong capabilities with his experience and leadership skills which will further embed ESG capabilities within our investment philosophies."

An alumnus of the University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and of the University of Michigan, LaCoursiere has most recently spent six years at Aviva, leading fixed income specialists and directors, leading global corporate credit and equity research, and then leading global ESG research. Earlier, he held various fixed income PM roles at Chicago Equity Partners, Barclays Global Investors, and Munder, as well as in an earlier stint with Aviva.
