Tuesday, November 21, 2017 An Irish Charity Gathers Fundsters to Honor a Star PM A Irish philanthropic fundraising network gathered high-profile Boston area fundsters and other donors last week at a party in honor of a famed former star PM. John Hancock Investments CEO Andrew Arnott, State Street CEO Ron O'Hanley (a week after his promotion), Putnam CEO Bob Reynolds, and other Beantown bigwigs attended the Ireland Funds' 36th annual Boston Gala on Thursday at the Westin Boston Waterfront, the Boston Herald reports. The honoree of the evening, the paper reveals was none other than Peter Lynch, who serves as president of the Lynch Foundation and vice chairman of Fidelity Management and Research Company and previously was the star PM of Fidelity's then-flagship Fidelity Magellan Fund. The black tie event attracted more than 1,000 people, according to the Herald, and was spearheaded by Steve Greeley, New England director of the Ireland Funds. The fundraising network's tagline is "progress through philanthropy." Its mission "is to harness the power of a global philanthropic network of friends of Ireland to promote and support peace, culture, education and community development across the island of Ireland and among Irish communities around the world." Over the years the network has raised more than $550 million to support more than 3,000 organizations in 12 countries. Printed from: MFWire.com/story.asp?s=57310 Copyright 2017, InvestmentWires, Inc.
