On Thursday at its annual gala, Fund Industry Intelligence announced the winners of its annual Mutual Industry Awards.

The big winners this year were:

Lifetime Achievement Award - Judy Rice, chairman, Prudential Investments [profile];

Fund Leader of the Year - George Gatch, CEO of J.P. Morgan Funds [profile];

Fund Marketer of the Year - Thomas Butch, head of distribution, and Lori Dorsey, director of marketing, Ivy Funds [profile];

Ad Campaign of the Year - OppenheimerFunds [profile] "Globalize Your Thinking";

Deal of the Year - CIBC's purchase of a stake in American Century Investments [profile];

Sales Success of the Year - MainStay Investments' [profile] Large Cap Growth Fund; and

Retirement Leader of the Year - MassMutual.

NEW YORK, NY -- (Marketwire) -- 04/09/12 -- Fund Industry Intelligence and Fund Director Intelligence, the exclusive daily information services on the mutual fund industry, announced the winners of the 19th Annual Mutual Fund Industry Awards at an April 5 gala at New York's Mandarin Oriental. More than 450 mutual fund marketers, analysts and executives, as well as mutual fund company lawyers and independent trustees, attended the event. The winners were announced after a six-month nomination and selection process conducted by the FII and FDI editorial teams. The picks were based on a combination of editorial research and feedback.

Fund Industry Intelligence's winners were:
