Yesterday Matt Hougan, CEO of ETF.com, revealed the finalists for the publication's 2015 awards. The awards recognize firms, individuals, indexes, and even tickers.

iShares leads so far with 14 finalist spots, while SSgA and WisdomTree landed eight each. Other multi-spot contenders include: Deutsche Bank [profile] (six finalist spots); Goldman Sachs [profile] (five); John Hancock [profile] (four); BioShares, Northern Trust's [profile] FlexShares, MSCI, Pacer, Reality Shares, S&P Dow Jones Indices, and Vanguard [profile] (three each); and Alps [profile], Cantor Fitzgerald [profile], Charles Schwab [profile], New York Life's [profile] IndexIQ, Lattice, Morgan Stanley [profile], Invesco's PowerShares [profile], and ProShares (two each). And 56 others each landed a single finalist spot.

All told, ETF.com has recognized 136 finalists across 30 different categories. No nominations were made one in category, "best new currency ETF", so no finalists were named.
