Calamos Says Goodbye to a C-Level Executive

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Just slightly more than two weeks after Jim Boyne was named president of Calamos, the firm is announcing the departure of a C-level executive.

According to an SEC filing, Calamos reported that senior vice president and chief administrative officer Randall Zipfel will leave the company by February 28th.

Zipfel was responsible for a variety of operational and business support functions including investment support, company operations, information technology and business planning.

From 2006 until November, 2011, he served as senior vice president and chief operating officer of Investments and Information Technology. He previously served as chief operating officer for INVESCO-NAM, where he directed all administrative, financial, human resources and business/investment support functions.

According to federal filings, Zipel earned $878,649 in compensation in 2011.

Nick Calamos left his position as president and co-chief investment officer at his uncle's firm in September.

MFWire was not able to reach anyone at Calamos immediately for comment.
