  • Wiesenberger to Offer Ibbotson Advice
  • The company is offering participants advice on their entire financial planning needs through NetPlanner, its Internet service, Sebastian Lucido, president, told the 401kWire.com.

"We sell directly to the plan sponsor, though we are talking to vendors to incorporate NetPlanner into their offering and drive the product," Lucido reported.

The system is designed to wrap around a vendor's recordkeeping system. "We would like participants' account information to flow into the system. It helps drive the advice component," he stated.

Lucid Financial is currently targeting the mid-sized to larger market. It is Lucido's hope to eventually gravitate down to the smaller end of the market.

"We use three Ibbotson profiles in our system, one with tax consequences and two without," the official added.

"We can make our advice plan specifc so that it ties into style and classes offered in that plan. We can also cross-pollinate our businesses. A provider can advertise on our site just to the participants that use its particular plan," Lucido continued.

Currently, the firm offers participants a variety of different modules to help with planning for retirement, college, and savings. The modules are interconnected and data inputed into one area is added into the calculations in other areas. The information travels throughout the system. Other modules in the future could include a banking module and a portfolio module. NetPlanner is now offered to participants in 401(k) plans through their employer, but the firm hopes to eventually make it available to individual investors.

NetPlanner was rolled out six weeks ago. Prior that it was beta tested with 1,800 participnats. Lucido reports that the system is compatible with 457 and 403(b) plans with some modifications. NetPlanner is an Internet-only service. The company is offering participants advice on their entire financial planning needs through NetPlanner, its Internet service, Sebastian Lucido, president, told the 401kWire.com...
