Thrivent Launches Asset-Allocation Funds

by: Theresa Sim

Thrivent Investment Management is thriving. The subsidiary of Thrivant Financial for Lutherans has launched a four-fund asset-allocation series as well as three new sector funds.

Thrivent's Investment Strategy Committee will manage the asset allocation funds, which will invest in other Thrivent funds.

Two of the new offerings, although designed for pre-retirees, are designed to hold cash stakes. The new funds are the Aggressive Allocation Fund (93 percent equities, 7 percent bonds), the Moderately Aggressive Allocation Fund (77 percent stock, 23 percent bonds), the Moderate Allocation Fund (58 percent stock, 32 percent bonds, and 10 percent cash) and the Moderately Conservative Allocation Fund (40 percent stock, 45 percent bonds and 15 percent cash).

In the sector arena, Thrivent launched three new funds: the Partner Small Cap Growth Fund, subadvised by Turner Investment Partners and Westcap Investors; the Partner Mid Cap Value Fund, subadvised by Goldman Sachs; and the Real Estate Securities Fund, managed in-house.
