Paul Schott Stevens took his call for streamlined fund disclosure documents to the Washington press corp Tuesday. The ICI president has been pushing for rules that would allow fund firms to use the Internet in place of much of the existing printed disclosures since he took office last year.
This time he brought his pitch for digest prospectuses and annual reports to an audiance at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., reports
Dow Jones' MarketWatch.
"Thanks to the Internet, we can provide both less and more," Stevens told the media. He also called on the SEC to revamp the existing mutual fund disclosure system in order to make the abbreviated disclosures work.
