Now that the green movement has caught on, fund shops that have always been on the cutting edge of ethical or socially responsible investing are trumpeting their virtues. Integrity
is the latest shop to use this strategy, reminding investors that, since 1995, the Integrity Growth and Income Fund
has followed the principals of ethical investing and achieved a nice return while doing it.
Integrity Mutual Funds, Inc. (IMFD.OB), a mutual fund and financial services company, is challenging today's investors to join the Ethical Investment (EI) movement and broaden their moral vision to apply the same values to their investment portfolios as they would in raising their children.
With various subsets of EI investing in the U.S. expected to grow to $3 trillion by 2011, and concerns about man's effect on the environment growing more urgent daily, Integrity is encouraging investors to embrace all these ethical considerations within their investment activities.
"Most ethically-oriented funds focus only on a particular subset of our broader moral universe, such as social responsibility, animal rights, 'family values' or environmental concerns," said Robert Loest, manager of the Integrity Growth & Income Fund (IGIAX). "We address all these concerns at once in the management of the fund. While we applaud the range of options available to investors looking to invest ethically, it's important to note that we take a multi-dimensional approach to this fund, and we feel the term Ethical Investment better describes such an approach than more narrowly defined terms in current use."
"The Integrity Growth and Income Fund is an attempt to give investors an investment option for which they don't have to step outside of their moral universe to make money in stocks. There are a whole range of issues and considerations that go into our investment management style, and we don't believe that you need to be narrowly focused on certain principles. We believe investors are better served by taking an overall, global look at their whole ethical style, and that is our aim with this Fund," said Loest.
With an inception date of January 3, 1995, the Integrity Growth and Income Fund has delivered an average annualized return of 10.24% through August 31, 2007. Total return does not reflect deduction of the Fund's 5.75% maximum sales load. If the maximum sales load were deducted, the since inception return would be 9.73%.

He seeks to invest in well-run companies that consistently generate high amounts of free cash flow, earn high returns on invested capital and sell at a discount to fair value, calculated using discounted free cash flows.
