Barclays Global Investors' foray into target-date ETFs gains coverage in Wednesday's Wall Street Journal Fund Track by John Spence. With the launch, BGI enters a space populated by TD Ameritrade subsidiary Amerivest Investment Management and XShares Advisors, which last year jointly launched the industry's first set of target-date ETFs.

Meanwhile, State Street has filed with the SEC to come out with actively managed target-date ETFs.
