Pimco Promotes 78

Seventy-eight employees have moved up at Pimco. The Newport Beach, California-headquartered bond fund giant elevated 12 to executive vice president, 24 to senior vice president and 42 to vice president. The list includes Pimco Funds chief compliance officer Jennifer Durham, who how has the EVP title.

Pimco has more than 1,200 employees, 800 of whom work at its headquarters.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA--(Marketwire - April 10, 2009) - PIMCO, one of the world's leading fixed-income managers, has announced the promotion of 12 employees to the position of executive vice president, 24 to the position of senior vice president, and 42 to the position of vice president.

The new executive vice presidents are:

Philippe Bodereau
Mr. Bodereau is PIMCO's London-based lead analyst for US and European financial institutions. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2004, he was a senior banking analyst at Societe Generale in London and Paris. Mr. Bodereau started his career at JPMorgan in 1996, where he held various positions in the private banking and global markets divisions in Brussels and London. He has 13 years of investment experience and holds a master's degree in Finance from the French business school Ecole De Hautes Etudes Commerciales du Nord (EDHEC).

Jennifer Durham
Ms. Durham is Newport Beach-based and serves as chief compliance officer of PIMCO, PIMCO Funds and PIMCO Variable Insurance Trust (PVIT). She also serves as the money laundering compliance officer for PIMCO Funds PVIT. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2000, she was a compliance examiner/staff accountant in the investment company/investment adviser examinations branch of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission in the Pacific regional office. She has 15 years of legal experience and holds a bachelor's degree in Business Economics from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Joe Fournier, CFA
Mr. Fournier is a London-based account manager. He joined PIMCO in 1999, after serving as an account management intern. He was an account manager in Newport Beach and then head of client service in Singapore before relocating to London. He has 10 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Paul Merage School of Business at the University of California, Irvine. He received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Yanay Lehavi
Mr. Lehavi is a Newport Beach-based Information Technology manager responsible for Front Office and Compliance technology. Mr. Lehavi joined PIMCO in 2001 having previously worked at Bloomberg LP and Goldman Sachs. He has 20 years of technology and management experience, and holds a master's degree in Computer Science from New York University.

Eric J. Mogelof, CFA
Mr. Mogelof is a New York City-based account manager, with a focus on institutional client servicing. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2003, he worked in private equity at Jupiter Partners and in investment banking at Salomon Brothers. He has 10 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School. He received his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Economics from Yale University. In addition, Mr. Mogelof is a certified financial risk manager and a member of the Global Association of Risk Professionals.

Robert Morena
Mr. Morena is head of PIMCO's institutional development business in the New York City office, working with corporate and hedge fund-of-fund clients and consultants. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2007, he was a managing director and head of the institutional broad market group at JPMorgan Asset Management for seven years. In that capacity, Mr. Morena managed portfolios for all Lehman Aggregate, Citigroup BIG and Lehman Universal market-based strategies and was a senior investment professional on the macro team that set investment policy and strategy for all fixed-income assets under management. Prior to that, he was a managing director and portfolio manager for a hedge fund in Greenwich, Connecticut, managing global fixed-income portfolios. He also spent 17 years as department head and senior portfolio manager in The Bank of New York's institutional fixed income division. He has 28 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree from Rutgers College.

Alfred Murata
Mr. Murata is a Newport Beach-based portfolio manager with the mortgage- and asset-backed securities team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001, he researched and implemented exotic equity and interest-rate derivatives at Nikko Financial Technologies. He has 10 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in engineering-economic systems and operations research from Stanford University. He also earned a J.D. from Stanford Law School and is a member of the State Bar of California.

Ric Okun
Mr. Okun is a Newport Beach-based senior manager within the Technology Department. He joined the firm in 2001, after spending 10 years working in a variety of capacities across asset management, sales/trading and hedge funds. Mr. Okun has over 15 years of technology, risk management and strategic planning experience. He holds a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University and an MBA in Finance from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.

Arthur Ong
Mr. Ong is in the Legal and Compliance Department of the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2004, he was Associate General Counsel with Barclays Global Investors and prior to that, an executive director at Morgan Stanley. Mr. Ong was previously an associate with Davis, Polk and Wardwell and was a law clerk on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit. He has 21 years of legal experience and holds a J.D. from the Fordham University School of Law, where he was senior articles editor on the law review, and has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University. He was admitted to the bar in New York and Washington, D.C. and is Registered In-House Counsel in California.

Guillermo Osses
Mr. Osses is a Newport Beach-based emerging market analyst and member of the emerging markets portfolio management team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2006, he was responsible for proprietary trading and market making of Latin American local markets and quoting of Asian and Eastern European currencies at Barclays Capital. He has 11 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management. He received an undergraduate degree from the Catholic University of Córdoba in Argentina.

Luke Drago Spajic
Mr. Spajic is head of pan-European credit and ABS portfolio management, based in London. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2007, he was executive director and trader on the global macro proprietary trading desk at Goldman Sachs. Previously, he worked for Highbridge Capital, a division of JPMorgan. He has 14 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Cambridge University.

Frank Witt, CFA
Mr. Witt is the head of business development for PIMCO's German and Austrian business based in Munich. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2002, he was an investment banker with Goldman Sachs in Menlo Park, California and a risk manager with Deutsche Bank in Germany, Australia, Hong Kong, the U.K. and the U.S. He has 14 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business and holds a master's degree in economics from the University of Bonn in Germany.
