A crew member since 1995, Amy Dobra plays a key role in shaping Vanguard's brand. She is in charge of the retail client experience group, which creates client
communications in print, online and across social media. Dobra has led a cross-divisonal
team tasked with taking Vanguard's social media efforts beyond Vanguard.com. Earlier this year,
Vanguard planted its flag on
, the massively popular social networking site, and so
far, it has 3,856 Facebook fans.
"Facebook lets us show a more personal side of Vanguard —- a side that may not always come
across through our traditional communication channels," Dobra said in May.
Dobra and her team also launched Web sites aimed at advisors and institutional investors.
Vanguard's marketing efforts have been paying off. Net flows this year through July totaled $62.2 billion, putting the firm on pace to surpass last year's $84 billion, according to a recent Wall Street Journal
