New channels and new products mean newly-created positions at
Brinson Advisors as the firm is repositioning itself as the North American wholesaling arm of
UBS Asset Management.
"
Barry [Mandinach] will ultimately come to a number of conclusions," said
Brian Storms, ceo of Brinson Advisors, "but we've developed a model where we'll dedicate people to various channels but represent a pretty broad product set."
In the RIA channel, Brinson has hired
Jeffrey Cerrutti as an executive director and head of the RIA/broker/dealer channel, reporting to Barry Mandinach. Cerrutti most recently led the national sales effort for the Financial Planning channel at
Phoenix Investment Partners.
In the DC channel, Brinson Advisors tapped
Theodore Brakatselos and
Gary Jackson as executive directors, with senior sales roles in managing director
Steve Saner's group. Brakatselos was the director of institutional and investment sales for
Merrill Lynch's US private client group benefits and investment solutions. Jackson most recently worked as director of DC services in Tokyo, Japan for
SSB Citi Asset Management.
In the bank/insurance channel,
Mary Tritley and
Lisa Blake have also joined as executive directors, with senior sales roles in the banking and insurance division, which is head by
DeAnna Basler. Tritley came from a position as vice president, bank and trust sales at
American Century Investments, where she was responsible for the Northeast Territory. Also from American Century Investments, Blake was vice president, territory manager for the bank, trust and TPA Division.
Cerrutti, Saner, and Basler are continuing to build out their wholesaling teams as Brinson continues its "aggressive growth phase."
