Pimco Makes 101 Promotions

Pimco has elevated 10 employees to executive vice president, 32 to senior vice president and 59 to vice president. Newport Beach, California-headquartered Pimco has a total of 1,200 employees across the globe.

Among the newly minted EVPs are Roger Nieves, co-head of Pimco's bank and brokerage channel and Kevin Broadwater, a senior attorney focusing on regulatory, compliance and corporate matters.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA -- 03/24/10 -- PIMCO is pleased to announce the promotion of 10 to Executive Vice President, 32 to Senior Vice President and 59 to Vice President. "These PIMCO colleagues have contributed significantly to the firm's success in serving our clients, and are an important part of its future," said Mohamed A. El-Erian, CEO and co-CIO of PIMCO. "Their promotions reflect our confidence in their continued ability to deliver the highest quality investment management services worldwide for our clients."

Executive Vice Presidents

Kevin Broadwater


Mr. Broadwater is a senior attorney focusing on regulatory, compliance and corporate matters in the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2005, he worked for the law firm Seward & Kissel LLP, most recently as counsel. Prior to that, Mr. Broadwater was an attorney in the Office of Chief Counsel of the Division of Investment Management of the Securities and Exchange Commission and an associate with the law firm of Dechert LLP. Mr. Broadwater has over 20 years of legal experience and holds a J.D. from the Washington College of Law at American University and an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is a member of the bar in the District of Columbia and Pennsylvania and is registered in-house counsel in California.

Michael A. Burns, CFA


Mr. Burns is an account manager in the London office, focusing on institutional client service. He previously served as an account manager and mortgage product specialist in PIMCO's Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2002, he worked in the mortgage-backed securities group at Trust Company of the West. He has 11 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He received an undergraduate degree from Boston College.

Marcellus Fisher


Mr. Fisher is manager of PM Trade Support in the Newport Beach office. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2000, he spent 10 years in fixed income operations and in trading in the mortgage arbitrage group at Bankers Trust in New York. He has 20 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook.

Andreas Keck


Mr. Keck is a portfolio manager in the Munich office within the insurance specialist team. He manages the Allianz Life and the Allianz Health portfolios. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2000, he worked for Allianz Asset Management. He has 16 years of investment experience and holds a master's degree in applied mathematics from the University of Ulm in Germany.

Rama S. Nambimadom


Dr. Nambimadom is Head of Core Analytics in the Newport Beach office. He previously served as head of analytics for PIMCO Advisory and as a senior Financial Engineer developing credit and interest rate derivative models and trading ideas. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2002, he worked for three years as a quantitative analyst/trader on the interest-rate derivatives trading desk at ABN AMRO and had consulting engagements with Morgan Stanley and the Bank of Montreal. He has 12 years of investment experience and holds a Ph.D. in Operations Research from the University of Rochester and a master's degree in Financial Mathematics from the University of Chicago.

Roger Nieves, CFA


Mr. Nieves is a member of PIMCO's Global Wealth Management team in the Newport Beach office and co-head of PIMCO's bank and brokerage channel. Mr. Nieves is responsible for managing the firm's relationships with research platforms across the broker/dealer, bank, and trust bank segment, for all product and vehicle offerings globally. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001, he was a manager of financial analysis at Nissan Motor Corporation. He has 12 years of investment experience and holds an MBA from Washington University, St. Louis. He also holds a master's degree from the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University and an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Irvine.

Lorenzo Pagani


Dr. Pagani is in the Munich office and head of the European government bond and European rates desk. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2004, he was with the nuclear engineering department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and with Procter & Gamble in Italy. Dr. Pagani graduated from the Financial Technology Option program of MIT/Sloan Business School and holds a Ph.D. in nuclear engineering from MIT and a joint master of science degree from the Politecnico di Milano in Italy and the Ecole Centrale de Paris in France. He has seven years of investment experience.

Rudy Pimentel, CFA


Mr. Pimentel is a product manager in the Newport Beach office and is responsible for credit products, including distressed credit, high yield, bank loans, investment grade corporates, convertibles and absolute return credit strategies. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2003, he was with the global crude oil trading group of Chevron Corporation. He has eight years of investment experience and holds an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University. He received an undergraduate degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.

Melody Rollins, CFA


Ms. Rollins is an account manager in the New York office, focusing on institutional client service. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2001, she held positions in debt capital markets at Salomon Brothers and Deutsche Bank. She has 14 years of investment experience and holds an MBA with a focus on financial engineering from the MIT Sloan School of Management. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown University.

Shinichi Yamamoto


Mr. Yamamoto is an account manager in the Tokyo office, focusing on client servicing and business development as head of the remarketing team. Prior to joining PIMCO in 2002, he was in charge of mutual fund marketing at Goldman Sachs Asset Management. Previously, he was in fixed income trading in Tokyo and London at JPMorgan. He has 12 years of investment experience and holds an undergraduate degree from Keio University.
