chief financial officer on July 1, is heading to Artisan Partners
. Daley will join the Milwaukee-based mutual fund firm as managing director and chief financial officer on July 26.
Legg Mason formally announced Daley's departure
yesterday. Legg Mason officials said Daley will join a "privately held asset manager," without identifying his destination. Artisan, for its part, issued an announcement on his hiring today (see below).
Daley worked at Legg Mason for more than 20 years.

Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Artisan Partners announced today that Mr. Charles (C.J.) Daley, Jr. will join its team
as Managing Director and Chief Financial Officer effective July 26, 2010. C.J. will have lead responsibility for
the firm’s accounting and finance functions.
C.J. joined Artisan from global asset management firm Legg Mason where he was Chief Financial Officer,
Senior Vice President and Treasurer. He was with Legg Mason for over 20 years working in a variety of
financial management roles.
