Thompson Plumb Adds Two to its Board

The Thompson Plumb Funds, Inc. [see profile] has appointed George Austin, president of AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc, and Jason Stephens, is chief operating officer and a PM at Thompson Investment Management, Inc., to its board of directors, which currently have four members.

"George has a long history of management accomplishments and community service and has served on other boards requiring investment management oversight," stated John Thompson, president of Thompson Investment Management, Inc., advisor to the Thompson Plumb Funds.

"Jason has worked with our firm for over nine years in increasing roles of responsibility. He has also served the local community on many non-profit boards by guiding their activities.”
THOMPSON PLUMB FUNDS, INC. ANNOUNCES NEW BOARD MEMBERS MADISON, WI, November 1, 2011 -- Donald A. Nichols, Chairman of the Board of Madison-based Thompson Plumb Funds, Inc. would like to announce the appointment of two new Board members to its Board of Directors. George E. Austin and Jason L. Stephens were elected during a Shareholders meeting held October 31, 2011 at the Fluno Center in Madison, Wisconsin.

George E. Austin is President of AVA Civic Enterprises, Inc. as well as President of Overture Foundation, Inc. Jason L. Stephens, is Chief Operating Officer and a Portfolio Manager at Thompson Investment Management, Inc.

Thompson, President of Thompson Investment Management, Inc., advisor to the Thompson Plumb Funds. “George has a long history of management accomplishments and community service and has served on other boards requiring investment management oversight. Austin and Stephens will join current Board members Donald A. Nichols, John W. Feldt, Patricia Lipton and John W. Thompson.
