Pimco [profile] may soon be able to launch the ETF version of Total Return. The ETF is one of a number that passed the final step before typical regulatory approval. The ETF Trends.

The NYSE filed 19b-4 applications for a the number of ETFs in the final days of 2011.

Other mutual fund sponsors with for which the NYSE made similar filings are State Street Global Advisors, Russell Investments, AdvisorShares, Guggenheim Investments and WisdomTree.

The Pimco Total Return Fund ETF is one of the ETFs which is anticipated to join the market this 2012. A Pimco spokesperson told the publication that no final launch date has been decided on.

Pimco's Total Return mutual fund is PM'd by Bill Gross and has more than $240 billion AUM.
