Timothy Pettee is SunAmerica Asset Management's new chief investment officer and director of research. Pettee will oversee the investment team of the $7 billion AIG SunAmerica Mutual Funds, and take responsibility for the firm's research and trading units. He will also play a role in new product development.

Pettee reports to Peter Harbeck, president of SunAmerica Asset Management.

He was most recently executive vice president and global director of research for Schroder Investment Management, where he oversaw a team of more than 80 analysts and managed a U. S. large-cap portfolio product group. From January 1998 to November 2000, he was director of research with U.S. Trust Co. of New York and co-managed that firm's small-cap portfolio products. He also held several positions in research and portfolio management at Alliance Capital Management from January 1990 through January 1998.
