Loomis Sayles Names Deputy Chief Investment Officer

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Loomis, Sayles & Co., today announced that David Waldman, director of the firm’s quantitative research risk analysis (QRRA) group, has also been named deputy chief investment officer effective immediately. In this new role, David will be responsible for working with all Loomis Sayles investment teams in an effort to continually refine and enhance their investment processes. He will also play a lead role in developing new investment strategies, products and businesses. David will continue to report to Jae Park, chief investment officer.

“As our business grows and global markets become increasingly complex, we are continuously reinforcing our management infrastructure in an effort to provide clients with our best investment management solutions. David’s efforts to build what is now a mature quantitative research group has integrated him deeply into the investment process of every team at Loomis Sayles, making him the ideal candidate to become deputy CIO” said Jae Park. “We are focused on delivering value for our clients, and ensuring that all of our investment teams are leveraging the full breadth of research inputs available to them is imperative. Additionally, I believe David will be an instrumental resource as we look to expand our array of investment offerings.”

David retains his director of QRRA position, which he has held since joining Loomis Sayles in 2007. In this capacity, David oversees a team of 13 research analysts who provide sophisticated quantitative analysis and risk modeling customized to the needs of each investment team. Their efforts complement the fundamentally-based research which defines the Loomis Sayles investment culture.

Additionally, Michael Crowell, previously a quantitative analyst on the QRRA team, has been named senior investment specialist reporting to David Waldman.
