has promoted Norman E. Nabhan
to national director overseeing all sales, marketing and training functions for the group. He had previously overseen the Group's sales. He reports to Frank L. Campanale
, president and chief executive officer of Consulting Group. The unit runs the wirehouse's managed account business and is one of the four leading platforms in that business.
Campanale pointed to Nabhan's success working with both Smith Barney consultants and institutional clients as one reason for the promotion. As national director of sales since 1997, Nabhan had worked with the Group's 20 divisional and regional consulting directors to coordinate sales, marketing and training efforts for approximately 12,500 Smith Barney financial consultants. He also worked closely with the firm's 80 senior institutional consultants.
Nabhan joined the Consulting Group in 1978 after spending five years at Merrill Lynch.
