Ivy Weathers a High Income Switcheroo

Reported by Tommy Fernandez

Look upon it as an investing cross pollination.

Bryan Krug, formerly PM of the High Income Fund offered by Waddell & Reed's Ivy Funds has left to join Artisan Partners, where he will reportedly lead a credit opportunities strategy Artisan plans to launch next year.

Krug, who helmed the Ivy High Income Fund since 2006, was promptly replaced by William Nelson as PM. Nelson is also PM of the Ivy Funds VIP High Income and Waddell & Reed Advisors High Income Fund.

Here are the press releases:

MILWAUKEE--Artisan Partners Asset Management Inc. (NYSE: APAM) today announced that fixed income portfolio manager Bryan C. Krug will join the firm likely by the end of 2013.

Mr. Krug has 14 years of industry experience and 7 years of portfolio management experience leading a high-yield investment strategy. Mr. Krug holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Miami University, Richard T. Farmer School of Business, and is a CFA charterholder.

At Artisan Partners Mr. Krug will lead a credit opportunities strategy that the firm expects to launch in 2014. Upon joining Artisan Partners Mr. Krug will have the flexibility to develop a team in a way that fits his own unique investment beliefs and process.
