UNX has landed William Karsh as president and senior managing director. The provider of basket-trading platforms and other services to broker-dealers said that Karsh will manage its brokerage operations and oversee its trading and business development efforts.

Karsh reports to Randy Abernathy, CEO. He was most recently COO of Embarcadero Securities. Prior to that he was a senior vice president of business development at Knight Trading Group.

UNX is a venture-backed firm that has received funding from Blue Chip Capital, JPMorgan, Gazelle TechVentures, Putnam Lovell Equity Partners, and TA Associates.
