It's official, mutual funds (liquid alts in particular) are cool enough again that even hedge fund managers want to work for them.
A
CNBC article reports that former
GLD Partners lead portfolio manager
Daniel Geber has joined
Neuberger Berman as a managing director for the company's soon-to-launch
Neuberger Berman Global Long Short Fund.
CNBC writer Lawrence Delevingne cited one recruiter on the subject of alts hiring.
"The growing investor demand for liquid alternatives is putting PMs who can go both long and short in hedge or mutual funds in high demand," said Sasha Jensen, founder of recruiting firm Jensen Partners. "The line between hedge and mutual funds is increasingly blurry."
And yet another nail is hammered into the coffin of hedge funds.
