After 10 Years, a Top Fund Services Exec Leaves UMB

Reported by Neil Anderson, Managing Editor

UMB Fund Services' former chief is leaving after a decade with the company.

Tony Fischer, executive director of national sales for institutional banking and asset servicing at UMB Bank, is moving on from the Kansas City, Missouri-based firm, 401kWire has learned. There is no word yet on how Fischer's duties are being handled.

Fischer and Maureen Quill, current president of UMBFS, did not return calls for comment.

"We wish Tony well in his future endeavors and thank him for his many years of service and leadership," Jim Cornelius, president of institutional banking at UMB, tells MFWire in an emailed statement. "Our internal team structure is evolving to ensure we are aligned to best meet the needs of our clients."

Word of Fischer's departure comes four months after Quill succeeded Fischer as head of UMBFS while Fischer shifted into his latest role, leading business development for institutional banking. Since then both Fischer and Quill have reported to Cornelius.

An alumnus of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School, Fischer joined UMBFS in 2008 and rose to lead the business in 2014. Prior to joining UMBFS he worked at Bisys, SEI, Merrill Lynch, and Delaware.
