The Baron folks took over Lincoln Center today yet again for their 28th annual conference, which drew more than 5,000 people. The event is for investors who have at least $25,000 in Baron Funds.
After breakfast sessions, the morning featured CEOs of some of Baron Funds' portfolio companies. Attendees then divided up for lunch: some saw Soledad O'Brien
do a Q&A with comics Steve Carrell
and Stephen Colbert
, some saw ballet dancers, and some saw Mariah Carey
Ron Baron also gave away Teslas (and Tesla chairman Robyn Denholm
was one of the speakers this morning). One 22-year-old attendee was not in her seat when they announced that seat as a winner of a Tesla model, so another name was drawn. The first would-be winner was devastated when she returned and realized what she missed, so Ron Baron decided to give away two cars.
