Brilliant Adds Two Key New Roles At Diamond Hill

Reported by InvestmentWires Staff,

A Midwestern mutual fund firm's chief recently added a pair of senior leaderships to her team, promoting to fill one and hiring to fill the other.

At Diamond Hill Capital Management, an independent active asset manager and a subsidiary of Columbus, Ohio-based Diamond Hill Investment Group, Jo Ann Quinif has been promoted to chief client officer, a new position within the firm. And Lara Hoffmans was brought into the company on February 5 as managing director of marketing, also a new position. Hoffmans reports to Quinif.

Prior to her position with Diamond Hill, Hoffmans served as director of investment communications at Artisan Partners in Milwaukee for six years. An Artisan spokesperson did not return calls for comment.

"Both leadership appointments reflect our continued commitment to clients," states Heather Brilliant, CEO of Diamond Hill Capital Management. "Jo Ann is the first executive at Diamond Hill to serve as chief client officer, and her new title is well-deserved recognition of her leadership skills and responsibilities. We are also enhancing our marketing efforts and are delighted to welcome Lara, who has deep industry knowledge and marketing expertise."

Hoffmans tells MFWire, "Understanding audience engagement with compelling marketing content has become not just a nice-to-have, but critical to developing a cohesive client experience. I'm excited to bring that expertise to the team at Diamond Hill."

Quinif has been at Diamond Hill for two and a half years, serving as managing director of business development and marketing before her promotion to chief client officer in January. Before coming to Diamond Hill, she was vice president and director of marketing and client service at Weitz Investment Management for almost ten years. Before that, she spent four years as vice president of key accounts at Ariel Investments and two years as director of marketing for the Cincinnati Financial Corporation. She is an alumna of Ohio State University and graduated with an MBA from Xavier University.

Before her time with both Artisan and Diamond Hill, Hoffmans was an executive at Fisher Investments for nine years, a private banker at Wells Fargo for one, and a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch for two. She is an alumna of the University of Notre Dame.
