That's one takeaway from the third annual women in finance list from the Barron's folks, released this week. The publication's team considered a list of U.S.-based executives from across the financial services spectrum (as well as public servants, policy makers, and CFOs). As of this morning, Barron's has posted profiles of 10 women at the beginning (alphabetically) of the list, with more profiles to come.

The biggest mutual fund company winner on the list is Vanguard, with four honorees: Kaitlyn Caughlin, global head of investment risk; Sara Devereux, global head of the fixed income group; Vernita Exum, global head of ETF capital markets; and Karen Risi, managing director and head of planning & development.

Next up is BlackRock, with three winners: Anne Ackerley, head of the retirement group; Samara Cohen, chief investment officer for ETFs and index investments; and Carolyn Weinberg, global head of product for iShares and index investments.

Ariel Investments, Fidelity Investments, and Franklin Templeton have two winners each: at Ariel, Rupal Bhansali, chief investment officer and PM for international and global equity strategies, and Mellody Hobson, co-CEO; at Fidelity, Abby Johnson, CEO, and Pam Holding, co-head of equity and head of sustainable investing; and at Franklin, Sonal Desai, CIO of the fixed income group, and Jenny Johnson, president and CEO.
