A team near New York City is rolling out their first three U.S. ETFs, with another 19 coming soon.

Themes Management Company, LLC
CEO, Co-Founder, Principal Owner
Today is the inception date for the first Themes ETFs: the Themes Airlines ETF (AIRL on the Nasdaq), the Themes Cybersecurity ETF (SPAM), and the Themes Generative Artificial Intelligence ETF (WISE). All three funds are series of the Themes ETF Trust.

CEO Jose Gonzalez-Navarro, chief operating officer Dobromir Kamburov, and general counsel Tracy Grant co-founded Greenwich, Connecticut-based Themes, and for five years those three leaders has served in similar roles at European ETF shop Leverage Shares. Today Gonzalez-Navarro, Kamburov, and investment strategist Taylor Krystkowiak revealed that the Themes team will roll out another eight ETFs in the coming weeks. And, as previously reported, the themes team has already filed for another 11 ETFs (which would boost their lineup of thematic ETFs to 22 funds in total).

Themes Management Company, LLC will serve as investment advisor to AIRL, SPAM, and WISE, as well as the upcoming Themes ETFs. All of the new ETFs today (and all but one of the planned ETFs) will be passively managed, with Themes' Kevin Shao, vice president of product management and development, and Calvin Tsang, head of product management development, as the funds' PM team.

WISE, SPAM, and AIRL all come with the same expense ratio: 35 basis points. Solactive is the index provider for all three funds. AIRL will track the Solactive Airlines Index, SPAM will track the Solactive Cyber Security Index, and WISE will track the Solactive General Artificial Intelligence Index.

Looking ahead, the eight other Themes ETFs expected to debut soon include:
  • the Themes Cloud Computing ETF (CLOD) for 35bps, tracking the Solactive Cloud Computing Index;
  • the Themes European Luxury ETF (FINE) for 35bps, tracking the Solactive European Luxury Index;
  • the Themes Global Systematically Important Banks ETF (GSIB) for 35bps, the sole actively managed Themes ETF currently planned per the filings;

  • "Our ETFs seek to provide investors with a way to own the opportunities that are shaping the future and moving markets," Krystowiak states. "Themes ETFs can provide access to specific segments of the market with expense ratios 40% below the average charged by our competitors."

    "We have built a lean asset management organization that minimizes distributional expenses in order to maximize cost-efficiency so we can pass these savings directly on to investors in the form of lower fees," Gonzalez-Navarro states.

    "Our products have been priced to meet the demands of an increasingly cost-conscious investor," Kamburov states.
