Matthew Friedman, current head of Fidelity's cyclicals research group and manager of corresponding cyclical funds, replaced Pratima Abichandani as head of the natural resources group on June 1.

Along with his cyclicals coverage, Friedman will manage Fidelity Select Natural Resources Portfolio, Fidelity Advisor Natural Resources Fund, VIP Natural Resources Portfolio, and the Fidelity Select Energy Portfolio.

Also effective June 1, Charles W. Hebard moved from management of Fidelity Select Energy Service Portfolio to Fidelity Select Insurance Portfolio, taking over for Ian Gutterman.

Nathan J. Strik, an analyst with Fidelity, will fill the vacancy left by Hebard and manage the Fidelity Select Energy Service Portfolio.

Another happy Fidelity analyst is Robert A. Lee, who will manage the Fidelity Select Food and Agriculture Portfolio, taking over for Valerie Friedholm.

A Fidelity spokeswoman said that the moves were a "typical rotation" intended to give analysts broader exposure to other industry areas. Abichandani takes up a research director position with Fidelity affiliate Strategic Advisors, Gutterman will cover health care, and Friedholm will manage a FidelitySelect home finance portfolio.
