Boston-based
State Street Corp. is stamping its name onto a section of Fenway Park. The financial services firm has sealed a partnership with the Boston Red Sox under which State Street receives naming rights to an improvement at the park.
The State Street Pavilion, scheduled to debut on Opening Day 2006, will include the top half of the former .406 Club, as well as the seating areas down the first and third base lines previously occupied by the Infield Roof Boxes, according to a news release.
The pavilion will house 2,224 seats, concession stands and restrooms. It will also feature an open concourse.
With seats in Fenway being in such short supply (the team sold all of its seats before opening day last) year, the boxes are sure to attract the upscale crowd State Street hopes to reach.
