ABN AMRO North America has named
Thomas Zidar as president and ceo of ABN AMRO Financial Services (AAFS), a spokesperson with the firm told the MutualFundWire.com. Zidar was promoted from within the company.
Prior to this move, Zidar, who has been with the firm since 1997, held the title of manager of merger integration. He is being replaced in that position by
Charles Van Swearingen, the spokesperson reported. Van Swearingen is a former cfo of
Michigan National Bank.
AAFS is the financial services advisory and broker/dealer arm for ABN AMRO's North America unit. AAFS operates through the 400 branches of LaSalle Bank and Standard Federal Bank.
Zidar will report to
Scott Heitmann, chairman and ceo of Standard Federal Bank. He is also vice chairman of ABN AMRO North America.
Zidar intends, in the short term, to deepen the financial relationship between the firm and its existing customer base and, in the long term, to expand that base, the spokesperson concluded.
