GE Capital is losing 7,000 jobs this year as part of an effort by the firm to eliminate $1 billion of expenses. The plan was revealed in an analyst conference call yesterday. The call did not discuss specific cuts but did reveal that workers will be expected to become more productive through the use of the Internet.
