The new year has brought new titles for two Jackson National executives.
Mark Nerud, president of Jackson National Asset Management and Jackson Fund Services, is now also CEO. The firm has also promoted
Susan Rhee to senior vice president, general counsel of JNAM and JFS.
JNAM is the investment advisory arm of the Lansing, Michigan and Chicago-based firm that also provides transfer agency services for Jackson's variable products, while JFS encompasses the fund administration and accounting services.
In his new role, Nerud will oversee investment management, business and product development, and operations, as well as guide the strategic direction of the firms. Previously, Nerud served as president of JNAM and JFS, having joined Jackson in 1996 from Voyageur Funds at Voyageur Asset Management, where he ran fund administration and accounting.
For her part, Rhee was most recently assistant vice president and associate general counsel for Jackson and chief legal officer of JNAM. As SVP and General Counsel, she will assume responsibility for all legal aspects of Jackson's investment companies. Rhee arrived at Jackson in 2001 from Goldman Sachs' Wealth Management Division, where she ran the division's compliance issues.
Jackson National Asset Management has approximately $38 billion in assets as of September 30 2009. The fund administration and accounting arm, Jackson Fund Services, currently services 196 funds with over 449 billion in assets under administration as of September 30 2009.
